Members of the Oread Angel Investors gathered in historic Allen Fieldhouse for a fall pitch event featuring three companies with ties to the University of Kansas on the Friday before the Dillons Sunflower Showdown. The group was welcomed with a happy hour at the Jayhawk Welcome Center the night before. After the pitches, the group experienced a fireside chat with KU alumni and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, heard some angel investor insights from Chris Simpson of Polsinelli, and ended the day with a tour of the new David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
The featured companies were:
- Ideem, a B2B SaaS platform that makes two-factor authentication easy and invisible for everyone, all the time.
- Likarda, a biotech company that customizes formulations to deliver complex drugs, enhancing their function and safety (and also a Park graduate).
- Fukui Labs, whose Bottega platform allows content creators to turn their ideas into ownable and monetizable IP through blockchain technology, and was founded by former KU basketball player Landen Lucas.
